Bacteria Lab

*All the photos and observations are from December 8th, 2010.
1) School plate: This plate contains 4 different sections containing samples from inside the school building. "A" is from a stair rail; "B" from a lock of a school locker; "C" from a handle of the school's main entrance door; and "D" is the "control", meaning it was touched by a scotch tape, which was used to collect bacteria samples from the 3 objects.
Observation: "A", where the nutrient agar was accidently damaged by the tape, grew numerous bacteria colonies, as well as a small white dot beside them. "C" grew a smaller dot close to the edge of the plate. "D" had a fairly decent dot growing on the top right corder of the section.

2) Aseptic plate: This plate contains a substance called Sarcina aurantiaca. This substance was smudged in a pattern using a tool called "loop".
Observation: Nil result - no reaction so far.

3) Disc plate: This plate contains 4 discs placed on the nutrient agar that underwent the aseptic technique. First disc is soaked in lysol; second soap; third is the contol; and fourth is supposedly a sterile disc, but since we didn't have a sterile disc, we left the space blank.
Observation: On the intersection between "E" and "G", there is a red dot that is not as perfectly round as other dots seen on the school plate. There was the exact same red dot on the plate before even doing anything to it. Altough it was removed, it seems to have reappeared.
